When I was a kid, nothing was better than watching/listening to music videos on MTV. I was mostly moved by nu metal and pop punk bands; I wasn’t sure why. Most wore tees with intriguing graphics on them, I guess I really liked how it consisted with depth and detail-to top it off everyone’s hair were dyed different colors. Wouldn’t be long till my mom would turn off the tv, “I don’t want you watching that”. So, I would then play on my Xbox original. I felt like I was sucked into a different universe-so moved by the game but was intrigued by the characters. I wished I was able to have those Halo tees that I saw a few bands perform in on MTV. It was a time I wished I was older to experience. I want to bring those memories back but, felt unoriginal to recycle. Perhaps It’d be much more appropriate to unveil a gesture that honors what came before, while leaning into what lies ahead.
